Corona LRT Station Escalator
Major repairs are planned for the Corona Escalator #46. This escalator is 30 years old and well past its normal design life. All escalators in the LRT system undergo rigorous, regularly scheduled maintenance.
At Corona, damaged steps were uncovered during a safety inspection. LRT is evaluating step repair or replacement options with our contractor. As a safety precaution, and in accordance with the safety code, the unit has been taken out of service.
It will take some time for parts to be delivered as they are not readily available due to the age of the escalator.
