About the Edmonton Public Library

The Edmonton Public Library carries everything you care about. We are Edmonton's largest lender of all manner of information and entertainment. Our professionally trained staff take you beyond Google with the knowledge, discernment and desire to help you navigate a universe of information.

Every year, we host over 13 million in-branch and online visits across our 17 branches and our website. We offer over 6800 FREE programs each year across our locations, including puppet shows, reading clubs, author readings, live music and more! We deliver our incredible content to you everywhere - in the library, at home, or on your handheld device. 

It costs less than 4 cents a day, a dollar a month or $12 a year for your library card, and if you’re under 18, it’s free! Not bad for unlimited access to the best information, entertainment, programs and services you’ll find.
