CO2RE Residential

Reducing the greenhouse gas emissions that cause climate change begins right at home. Wise choices about home appliances, heating, vehicles and other lifestyle choices can make a big difference. The residential sector accounts for approximately one-third of Edmonton's total greenhouse gas emissions. Nearly half of these emissions are from transportation fuel, while approximately 27% of the emissions are from electrical use and 25% from natural gas use.

That’s why it’s so important that Edmonton households take action on climate change right in their own homes and vehicles. It’s easy and rewarding to become part of the CO2RE initiative. You’ll not only save money but also enjoy the satisfaction of making a real impact on the greenhouse gases that cause climate change.

Mission

Greenhouse gas emissions will be significantly reduced from Edmonton's residential community. This will also improve the quality of life and will be achieved by systematically increasing the resource efficiency of homes, communities, appliances and lifestyles in a manner that is cost-effective over the full lifecycle of all components.
