Enviso Implementation

In 2004, Edmonton City Council approved City Policy C505 (Edmonton's Environmental Management System). This policy stated that the City would establish environmental management systems (known as Enviso in the City of Edmonton) in accordance with the standard, ISO 14001. Since that time, Enviso implementation has proceeded in branches deemed to have the highest environmental risks. The status of the implementation is:

Corporate Properties (formerly Land and Buildings) – implementation in progress
Community Facility Services – ISO 14001 registration achieved in 2010
Roads Design & Construction and Transportation Operations – ISO 14001 registration achieve in 2008
Parks – ISO 14001 registration achieved in 2008
Edmonton Transit – ISO 14001 registration achieved in 2008
Drainage Services –ISO 14001 registration achieved in 2005
Waste Management – ISO 14001 registration achieved in 2006
Fire Rescue Services & Operational Services – ISO 14001 registration achieved in 2007
Fleet Services – ISO 14001 registration achieved in 2007
