Working Life of a School

Each school board annually identifies its need for new schools in its 3-year capital plan, and forwards these priorities to the Alberta government as a request for capital support. A school is built when the school board receives approval and funding.

The Joint Use Agreement provides a framework for the City and school boards to work together to operate joint school and park sites. The school board maintains the landscaping within the school building envelope. The City maintains the school sports fields, and the adjacent parks and recreation space
