Sakaw Surplus School Site
The Sakaw surplus school site at 5803 Mill Woods Road South has been approved by City Council for seniors’ housing.
City officials have been in discussion with the Greater Edmonton Foundation, a provider of seniors’ housing in the region, and with the provincial government, to develop this project.
The planned non-market component of the Sakaw development is enabled with the following funding support:
- $20 million in provincial funding
- $4.2 million in City Cornerstones funding
- $2.5 million in City land value
Council has reviewed and approved plans to proceed with development on the Sakaw site. The funding is in place with a development permit to come.
