How do I register for a course?

There are three ways to register for a Planning Academy course:

  1. Online through the EReg System.
  2. By Calling 311.
  3. In person at a City Recreation Centre.
Can I register for more than one course at a time online?

Yes.   The eReg system will accept registration for all courses at one time.

Do I have to take the courses in order, Course 1, Course 2, then Course 3?

No, you can take any course in any order.  Course 1 explains the history of planning, Course 2 explains regulations, and Course 3 deals with public participation. You can even take an elective before taking any of the three core courses.

I can't attend the course, can I get my money back or take a different course later?

We request that you give us 24 hours notice to withdraw from a course. Money will be refunded or transferred to another course registration.  

I want a Planning Academy Certificate. What do I have do to?

You must complete the three core courses and one elective.   Certificates are distributed once a year in late fall. If you have completed the requirements and would like to receive a certificate, please make sure that we have your most up-to-date contact information.
