Land Use Zoning
Land Use Zoning classifies the type of development allowed on a parcel of land.
Land use zone types in Edmonton include residential, commercial, industrial, urban services, agricultural and reserve zones, as well direct control provisions and special purpose overlays.
The descriptions on the Land Use Zones summary page provide general information on the various land use zones. These are for your convenience only.
Please consult the Zoning Bylaw for details. Zoning Bylaw No. 12800 was adopted by City Council on February 22, 2001 and became effective on June 14, 2001. This bylaw contains the rules and regulations for the development of land in Edmonton.
If you wish to change the zoning on a property, you must apply using the Land Development Application (LDA).
