Green Buildings Map
The City of Edmonton would like to thank all Edmontonians for their commitment to the vision of a sustainable and resilient city we want Edmonton to become. Their efforts, along with those of industry professionals, are making this vision a reality.
To showcase Edmontonians’ commitment to a vibrant, sustainable community, this ever-evolving interactive map was put together so you can see the growth of green buildings, which enhance sustainability and resiliency across the city.
Building green is about conserving resources during construction and throughout the operation of a building.
The City's Green Building plan sets out the City’s expectations for green building as well as the programs that will be developed to encourage greener buildings in Edmonton.
Right now, this map identifies buildings which have earned Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) certification and Built Green certification. The map also includes Eco-Solar Tour locations and solar panel installations.
You can review information on a location by clicking on the dots on the map.
Green buildings can contribute to the protection and restoration of biodiversity and urban agriculture and improve comfort, productivity, and livability for the people who occupy them.
Two notable examples of green buildings in Edmonton are the Robbins Health Learning Centre at Grant MacEwan University and the Edmonton Police Service Southeast Division station.
Be sure to check back regularly, as we add more examples of sustainability such as green roofs, and geothermal.
