• November 18, 19, and 26 - Public Open Houses
• March 5 - City Council approved a resolution directing Administration to initiate an annexation process with Leduc County and with the Town of Beaumont
• March 5 - City of Edmonton delivered Notices of Intent to Annex to Leduc County, the Town of Beaumont, the Municipal Government Board, the Capital Region Board, and other affected local authorities

2012

• The City of Edmonton and Leduc County signed a Letter of Intent to discuss long-range planning in the areas south of the City’s boundary. Several meetings took place over the remainder of the year
• Ongoing administrative meetings began with the Town of Beaumont
