The projects in West Rossdale - River Crossing currently underway or in the planning stages include:

Walterdale Bridge

The construction of a replacement bridge is underway.

Touch the Water Promenade

The waterfront promenade will look to create places for citizens to gather and enjoy the riverfront and may include amenities such as plazas, walkways and docks.

Heritage Interpretive Plan

The Heritage Interpretive Plan will help define the future identify of River Crossing and provide guidance on how the area's heritage will be reflected on the ground as change happens over time.

River Crossing Business Plan

This plan will build on the West Rossdale Urban Design Plan, Heritage Interpretive Plan, and previous engagement and visioning activities for the Rossdale Generating Station. It will confirm an integrated concept for the future of River Crossing, and identify what critical public investments and actions will be required to balance costs and city-­building outcomes, and to bring the vision for the area to life.

Stabilization of Rossdale Generating Station

The City has invested in stabilizing the historic generating station to support potential repurposing in the long term. The future of the generating station will be considered as part of the River Crossing project.
