Clareview District Park Development

Several exciting projects are now underway at Clareview District Park. The City of Edmonton is developing and constructing outdoor natural grass and artificial turf sports fields, park spaces and a multi-purpose recreation centre.

And, Edmonton Catholic Schools and the Edmonton Public Library are collaborating with the City to build a high school completion centre and the Clareview Library as part of the recreation centre – a first-of-its-kind facility in Edmonton.

2014	Entire facility and park open to public.
2012 - 2014	Construction of park and facility amenities.
June 28, 2012	Partnership celebration between the City of Edmonton, Edmonton Public Library, Edmonton Catholic Schools and the Government of Alberta to support construction of the Clareview Community Hub.
May 2012	Arena closes for upgrades.
October 2011	Construction begins.
2010	City of Edmonton and Edmonton Catholic Schools entered into an agreement for the addition of a Completion High School and Multicultural Centre attached to the centre.
Winter 2009/2010	Site work commenced, including removal of a large area of overgrown trees and shrubs, soil testing, and surface grading.
2008/2009	Detailed site development.
2006/2007	Needs assessment, analysis, public input, plan approval, budget preperations.

Project Overview

The Clareview Arena will be expanded into a multipurpose facility that features the following amenities in addition to a new Branch Library and Gymnasium:
