Public Consultation

Perkins+Will, from Vancouver, Canada, is the team leading the airport lands transformation and as part of their planning they have engaged communities, businesses, stakeholders to further define the winning conceptual plan and, among other items, roads, subdivisions, land uses, green space amenities, etc.

A series of workshops have been held (in October 2011, February and May 2012) providing citizens with three separate opportunities to provide input into the master planning process. The February 2012 public consultation workshops reconfirmed the input citizens provided in person and online in October with the May 2012 workshops intended to validate this input and conclude the public consultation for the Master Plan.

Presentations from Previous Workshops

If you were not able to make the recent May 2012 workshop, you can view the workshop presentation and a summary of the comments from participants in the Related Documents portion of this page. You can still provide feedback online.

Previous Consultation

Previous consultation included an online questionnaire and public information sessions at City Hall and at five additional locations throughout Edmonton from Feb. 15-March 1, 2011.

The City asked citizens to provide observations on design concepts and videos from 5 international teams to redevelop the airport lands. These submissions, which include 8 display boards and a 5-minute video, represented each teams’ vision for redeveloping the lands, based on Master Plan Principles approved by City Council.

We thank all Edmontonians for their observations on this exciting project. These observations will be carried forward and used during the 15-month planning process starting in fall 2011.
