Chinatown Project
The Chinatown Project is a study aimed to identify possible actions towards cultivating Edmonton's Chinatown into a sustainable and vibrant cultural destination. Consultation, collaboration and open dialogue with community partners will drive the strategy for the future we are building together.
Where We Are Today
From the first phase of the project, which involved a market assessment, surveys and community consultation, Proposed Economic Development Strategies have been generated. These shape the Economic Development Plan which will be shared with Executive Committee of Council on Wednesday, July 6, 2016.

Project Overview
Edmonton is a model for thriving neighbourhoods and communities that embody the best of social, economic, cultural and environmental business growth and practices. Strategies for the revitalization of Chinatown will reflect this vision.
The project is currently in phase 1, establishing the Economic Development Plan, which will identify viable opportunities to inform and address urban planning imperatives. This information will then be shared with Executive Committee of Council later this year for their consideration and direction in any future plans of the area.
Connect With Us
All Edmontonians are encouraged to be part of the discussion. If you have questions, comments or would like to be kept informed of the project's progress and opportunities for input, please direct them to the Chinatown Project Manager.
