South LRT Wins Construction Award

The City of Edmonton has received top honours from Alberta Construction Magazine for the South LRT Extension to Century Park.
“The Edmonton South LRT Extension was Alberta Construction Magazine’s clear choice for 2010 winner in the Civil category for two primary reasons: its complexity and the ability for such a large number of contractors and suppliers to complete a project of this scope on time and on budget,” said Alberta Construction Magazine editor Chaz Osburn.
“That’s an incredible accomplishment when you consider the timetables that had to be coordinated to meet the various deadlines as well as the engineering and construction challenges the project team had to deal with along the way.”
