New and Improved Peter Hemingway Opens with a Splash

Peter Hemingway Fitness and Leisure Centre is back in business and just in time for Edmontonians who are looking to fulfil their New Year’s resolutions to shed a few pounds while working up a sweat.
After six months of maintenance work, renovations and upgrades, the west-end recreation centre, located at 13808-111 Avenue, reopened on Jan. 3. We are pleased to welcome our regular patrons and those newcomers who are looking to lead more active lives in 2011.
This upgrade and maintenance project included:
- A rebuilt sauna
- Upgraded change rooms
- A modified steam room
- Installation of wallet lockers
- New fitness machines
- An upgraded pool deck and basin
- A deep clean of the fitness centre
- Modified hallway at change room entrance for safety
- New cashier area
- Replacement of pipes and drain lines
The upgrades and maintenance work at Peter Hemingway Fitness and Leisure Centre are part of the City’s continued commitment to providing Edmontonians with high quality recreation facilities that help us all lead healthy and active lifestyles.
