Mixed Commercial/Residential Development Proposed in Oliver
August 17, 2011
Citizens are invited to a public meeting to discuss a proposed rezoning and Area Redevelopment Plan amendment in the city’s central neighbourhood of Oliver. The rezoning would allow up to 14 storeys of mixed commercial and residential development.
Date: Wednesday, August 24, 2011
Time: 7pm
Location: Robertson-Wesley United Church,
10209 – 123 Street NW
The proposal would change eight properties from CB1 (Low Intensity Business) and DC1 (Direct Development Control Provision) Zones to a CB3 (Commercial Mixed Business) Zone. The Oliver Area Redevelopment Plan would also be amended accordingly and a portion of the lane north of Jasper Avenue and west of 122 Street would be closed.
The properties are 12206, 12212, 12220, and 12226-Jasper Avenue; 10110, 10120, and 10124-122 Street NW; and 10105-123 Street NW.
The meeting will explain the proposal and be an opportunity for the public to provide input both to the City and the applicant. The public feedback collected will be summarized in a report to City Council to assist with their decision on the rezoning.
This meeting is a follow-up to the information session held on August 4, 2011.
