Major City Plan Ready for Final Council Approval

The proposed Municipal Development Plan (MDP), Bylaw 15100, will be considered by City Council for third reading (and final approval) next week.
The MDP, also referred to as The Way We Grow, is the City’s strategic growth and development plan. It will shape Edmonton’s urban form and guide the way the city grows and moves over the next decade.

The plan has gone through almost four years of public consultation and City Council deliberation. City Council gave the plan second reading approval on February 22, 2010. The plan was then reviewed by the Capital Region Board, which approved it on May 10, 2010. It is now ready for final consideration and approval by City Council.
