Help a Snow Angel Get Its Wings

January 10, 2011

The almost record-breaking amount of snowfall over the weekend has made it challenging for even the most winter-ready Edmontonians to keep their sidewalks clear.

The weekend’s snow dump also offers Edmontonians the opportunity to show community spirit and offer a helping hand to those who need it, such as seniors and individuals with disabilities, who are often not able to clear the snow on their property by themselves.

Over the next few days as you brave the chilly weather, take a moment to think about those around you who could use help in removing snow – be an angel and help them clear their sidewalks.

Also, if you are an individual who has been helped by a snow angel, you can help them get their wings by nominating them for Mayor’s recognition and a chance to win some well-deserved prizes. So far, nearly 150 snow angels have been nominated to get much-deserved recognition and thanks from the City.

Learn more about becoming a snow angel, as well as nominating and thanking the snow angels among us, by visiting www.edmonton.ca/snowangels.

Choose to be a snow angel and help create a safe, livable neighbourhood for everyone.
