Enjoy free hot chocolate for skaters
Get a new pair of skates over the holidays?
The City invites you to sharpen them and head out to Hawrelak Park this Saturday at 11am.
Parks’ employees are making final preparations to the ice surface and the outdoor rink will be open to the public for free skating starting Saturday from 11am-10pm, seven days a week. Hockey sticks, pucks or balls are not allowed on public skating ice.
Skaters will also be offered a free cup of hot chocolate Saturday only, while supplies last and with a limit of one per person.
Hawrelak Park is one of seven outdoor rinks in Edmonton. Currently, other rinks open include Rundle Park, Castle Downs, City Hall and Victoria Park Oval. Mill Woods Campus and Jackie Parker Park rinks remain closed for now.
