Getting Involved in City Planning
February 26, 2010
The City of Edmonton once again invites residents and neighbourhood leaders to its Planning Academy – a series of courses in land use planning, transportation planning and urban design.
Over 1,000 people have participated in Edmonton’s Planning Academy since 2006.
The academy courses will help participants understand how the City makes planning decisions and identify the issues faced in the planning process. Experienced city planners facilitate the courses, and help simplify complex matters such as zoning, development procedures, as well as broader area and neighbourhood planning.
The spring 2010 session for the Planning Academy begins March 2 with Land Use Planning: The Big Picture. Other courses run March 13, April 10, April 24, May 11 and May 18.
Register soon. Courses are limited to 40 people per course.
The City of Edmonton is committed to working with residents to promote good urban planning and help us all to create a more sustainable, compact and healthy city.
