Send us your nomination by June 30

Only a few days remain for residents to submit their nominations for Front Yards in Bloom, with the deadline fast approaching on June 30. The largest of its kind in Canada, the Front Yards in Bloom program recognizes residents for attractive front yards and promotes community spirit.

Anyone can nominate a yard and can submit their nomination:

After June 30, volunteers will visit each yard to deliver a certificate, and sign or decal. Edmonton’s top yards are then chosen to receive awards, with winners announced during the Edmonton in Bloom Awards on August 11 at City Hall. The program also recognizes Edmonton’s top Edible Yard and Natural Front Yard.         

The City received more than 1,500 Front Yards in Bloom nominations in 2010.

Residents are reminded to display signs from previous years, as volunteers will add a 2011 decal to existing signs of repeated nominees. This practice began in 2010 to reduce plastic waste and celebrate repeated nominees.
