Capitol Theatre Being Recreated at Fort Edmonton Park

You can now go online to get a sneak preview of Fort Edmonton Park’s plans for the historical recreation of the Capitol Theatre. With construction set to start this summer, the theatre will open to patrons in the spring of 2011.
The original Capitol Theatre stood on Jasper Avenue, just off 100 Street. The re-creation of the theatre will be on 1920's street in Fort Edmonton Park, near the Hotel Selkirk. Entertainment planned for the venue will include live vaudeville performances, theatrical productions, concerts and film.
The project will restore the Capitol Theatre to its appearance in 1929.
