Big Bin Events Rolling Out to a Neighbourhood Near You

It’s time to say “so long” to that ratty sofa, burned-out freezer and old computer monitor. Edmonton’s popular Big Bin events start rolling on Saturday, May 7 at Commonwealth Stadium. This is the first of 12 Big Bin events that will be held throughout the city from May to September.
City residents can drop off items such as old furniture, mattresses, appliances, and other items too big for regular collection, at no charge. Computers and other electronics will also be accepted for recycling.
Bins will be on site for each location from 9am to 5pm on specified dates. Residents are reminded to secure their load properly by tying down large items to their vehicle and covering loose material with a tarp.
Household hazardous waste such as paint, varnish and used oil will not be accepted at Big Bin events and can be taken to one of the City’s three Eco Stations.
