Kids in the Hall Bistro and the City Market Downtown team up at City Hall

Expect some sizzle when Kids in the Hall Bistro and the City Market Downtown team up for a taste sensation at City Hall.

Date:  Saturday, March 12, 2011
Time:  10am to 3pm
Location:  Main Floor, City Hall

It’s the launch of the market’s new winter location at City Hall location, and also the first foray in a weekly food fest that will see the Kids in the Hall Bistro serve up irresistible treats made from Farmers’ Market produce. Feature menu on March 12 – bison slider burgers, California chicken panini, fresh cinnamon buns and more.

“We are pretty excited about this,” says Calvin Avery, program manager with Kids in the Hall Bistro. “It’s an opportunity for us to earn some additional revenue for the program, and also to generate new customers. Being at City Hall has been great for us over the years —the City has really helped us get on our feet.”

Kids in the Hall Bistro opened 15 years ago to provide employment and career skills for youth experiencing difficulties in their life. Between 40 and 50 young people aged 16 to 24 come through the E4C (City Centre Church Corporation) program each year.

The market’s new winter location promises to be a big success, with more than 50 vendors ready to tempt patrons with everything from locally-produced meat, baking and wine to hand-made arts and crafts and treats for the family pet.
