Top customer service, professionalism, friendliness and safe driving were recognized in two award categories at the 7th annual Vehicle for Hire Driver Appreciation Day Awards.
Members from the City’s Vehicle for Hire Commission and over 40 local drivers and guests congratulated this year’s award recipients.
“The Vehicle for Hire Commission encourages and recognizes professionalism and top customer service in the driving industry. These qualities help create personal and civic pride and influence customers’ perceptions of the industry and Edmonton,” says Leon Lubin, Chair, Edmonton Vehicle for Hire Commission. “Our industry is an important part of the transportation system supporting Edmonton businesses, tourism and citizens.”
Any member of the public, fellow driver, taxi broker, business, organization, institution or agency may nominate a driver for these awards.
2010 Driver Appreciation Day Awards – Recipients
Best Limousine Driver Customer Service Award
– Fouad Kanbour
A driver with Prestige Limousine, Mr. Kanbour has been nominated for his exceptional professional, courteous, safe and reliable service. He is always impeccably dressed and his vehicle is spotless. Without fail he arrives well before the arranged pick-up time and always keeps his clients schedules as his top priority.
Best Driver of the Year Award
– Balwinder Dhanoa
Mr. Dhanoa, a driver and training instructor with Co-op Taxi, is a model driver who demonstrates the highest standards in customer service, dress code and grooming, appearance of his vehicle and commitment to lifelong learning. He is also the recipient of the 2008 Best Taxi Driver Customer Service Award and the 2009 Role Model Award for exemplary service presented by the International Association of Transportation Regulators.
