City Crews Sanding, Plowing, Removing Windrows
January 21, 2013
Roadway Maintenance crews will continue removing windrowed snow from bus routes despite the precipitation that began over the weekend and is forecasted to continue through the week.
City crews are also plowing and sanding on priority routes including arterial roads, collector/bus routes, hills and bridge decks in order to keep traffic flowing smoothly and ensure that roads are in good winter driving condition. Motorists are urged to drive for conditions, leave extra distance between vehicles, keep windows clear of ice and snow, and to brake carefully.
Windrow removal from residential bus/collector routes began on January 14, 2013 and is expected to take until the end of the month. Locations where windrow removal is taking place are posted at www.edmonton.ca/busroutesnowremoval.
Citizens are reminded that a parking ban is in place on residential bus/collector routes when windrows are being removed. Vehicles on routes where parking restrictions are in place may be ticketed and towed.
