Date: Wednesday April 11, 2012
Time: noon
Location: City Room, City Hall
Vaisakhi is one of the most significant days for the Sikh religion. This day celebrates the creation of the Khalsa which was established in 1699 to eliminate differences between high and low caste and establishing that all human beings are equal.
This event is part of the City of Edmonton’s Celebrating our Faiths Program and is hosted in collaboration with the Edmonton Interfaith Centre for Education and Action. The program, which includes a display at City Hall, is designed to promote greater awareness and understanding of the city’s diverse faith communities.
