Public Meeting for Major Work on Bridges over Groat Road

Stony Plain Road Bridge

September 24, 2012

The City of Edmonton is hosting a public meeting about future rehabilitation of the Stony Plain Road Bridge over Groat Road and reconstruction of the 102 Avenue Bridge over Groat Road.

Date:  Tuesday September 25, 2012
Time:  5pm – 8:30pm
Location:  Royal Alberta Museum, 12845 102 Avenue

City staff will discuss the impacts of bridge and roadway construction, including total road closures. The public will have the opportunity to learn about construction staging and detour plans during construction and provide feedback.

The City will perform rehabilitation work on the Stony Plain Road Bridge over Groat Road over 4 months in the spring and summer of 2013. Replacement of the 102 Avenue Bridge over Groat Road will begin in 2014. The new bridge will maintain the existing 4 lanes, with wider lanes to meet current standards. It will also include greater accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists.
