The triathlon is sanctioned by the Alberta Triathlon Association (ATA) and offers all levels of athletes a safe and challenging course through Edmonton’s beautiful Coronation Park area. 

While the event attracts some of Western Canada's most seasoned athletes, our Triathlon prides itself on being the race of choice for many first-time triathletes thanks to the supportive, non-intimidating atmosphere it offers.

The course starts with a one-kilometre swim at the Peter Hemingway Fitness and Leisure Centre, transitions to a 26-kilometre cycle over Groat Road, and finishes with an eight-kilometre run through Mackinnon Ravine back to Coronation Park. Road closures will be in effect to keep the course safe for competitors and volunteers. Maps can be viewed online at Subway®Coronation Triathlon.

The City of Edmonton offers drop-in and registered triathlon training programs to help you get into peak condition for the race.

The triathlon is open to participants 16 years and older. Register as a single participant or as a team of two or three and share the swim, bike and run components. Participants can register for the triathlon online at karelo.com. Please click on the events list. Online registration only.
