Map Out Your Visit to Downtown Edmonton
July 18, 2012
Although there are fewer construction sites on Edmonton roads this summer, there is a significant amount of work taking place in the city’s downtown. A Downtown Construction map has been created to help motorists prepare for potential travel delays.
Please consider the various construction, drainage and utility work locations when planning a trip into downtown. While the work being done is essential in maintaining Edmonton’s transportation, drainage and electrical infrastructure and services, downtown construction can sometimes result in traffic congestion when citizens are travelling to and from work as well as arts and culture events and festivals.
The map shows scheduled construction projects. However, there may be other locations where emergency road/drainage/utility work is necessary. For an up-to-date listing of closures downtown and throughout the city, visit Roads and Traffic Updates.
We thank Edmontonians for their patience and remind drivers to carefully adhere to speed restrictions through construction zones.
