Have Your Say About the Future of Queen Elizabeth Park – Round 2

Queen Elizabeth Park

August 14, 2012

Edmontonians are invited to attend a public workshop to review and provide feedback on the vision and preliminary design concepts that have been developed for Queen Elizabeth Park.

Public Workshop: Queen Elizabeth Park Plan

Date:  Wednesday August 15, 2012
Time:  6:30–8:30pm (This is a full two-hour facilitated session, not an open house format)
Location:  Old Timer’s Cabin, 9430 Scona Road

The design concepts were developed based on input from the first round of public consultation in April 2012. At that time, Edmontonians provided ideas and input that has been used to develop the vision, guiding principles and design concepts for the park.

Queen Elizabeth Park encompasses 31 hectares on the south bank of the Edmonton’s river valley, just east of Kinsmen Sports Centre. The park currently provides amenities such as year-round trails, picnic areas, a playground and City of Edmonton River Valley programming. The park was home to the old Queen Elizabeth Pool, which was demolished after the new Queen Elizabeth Outdoor Pool opened in 2011. The park has served as a destination park for Edmontonians since 1909.

An online survey will be available from August 16 to 31, 2012 for those unable to attend the workshop. To access the survey or for more information, visit www.edmonton.ca/QEparkplan.
