Exciting things are happening at the Edmonton Valley Zoo. Join us for the National Zookeeper Week Summer Celebration. Established by the American Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK), this celebration offers visitors an opportunity to talk to the Edmonton Valley Zoo’s staff about the care they provide for the zoo’s animals each day.
You will have a chance to meet the zookeepers at a variety of Meet the Zookeeper talks – you will also find out their answers to “If I weren’t a zookeeper I’d rather be…?” Guests will enjoy creating a Year of the Dragon craft; playing Pin the Keys on the Zookeeper or for something more active, the little ones can enjoy pretending they are prairie dogs in our prairie dog tunnels.
Learn what it takes to be a zookeeper in the Junior Zookeeper Scavenger Hunt. Before you go home, sign the giant thank you card and watch as we present it to the zookeepers.
Also, don’t forget to buy a conservation dollar to vote for your favourite animal in the Edmonton Valley Zoo’s Race for Animal of the Year! Will it be Kayok, Rocky, Hula, or Pip?!
