Individual Requirements and Recommendations

Individuals who want to register to vote in the 2012 Jellybean Internet Voting Election are required to have their own personal email address.

You must be prepared to provide the City with an acceptable form of personal identification. The preferred way in which to provide this identification is through a secure upload directly to the registration system. Please Note: for the purposes of the 2012 Jellybean Internet Voting Election you are required to provide a form of personal identification, however, as students and individuals from across Canada and abroad are encouraged to participate, identification provided in these circumstances may not be on the acceptable identification list. It is recommended that you add the email address edmonton@internetvoting.ca to your address listing and/or contacts listing prior to registering to vote in the 2012 Jellybean Internet Voting Election. This will ensure the email messages sent to you from Edmonton Elections (edmonton@internetvoting.ca) confirming the status of your registration will be received. If you do not add this address, depending on your email settings, you may not receive crucial correspondence pertaining to your registration.

Privacy and Security

Your uploaded identification will be securely maintained in a database located in Canada until December 2012 when it is destroyed. Check out the FAQ page for further details regarding security.
