Disclosure Information for By-Election Candidates
All candidates for the Ward 12 By-Election are required to file either a By-Election Campaign Disclosure Statement and Financial Statement or Self Funded Campaign Voluntary Disclosure Statement on or before Tuesday June 21, 2016.
If a candidate's disclosure indicates the campaign resulted in a surplus of campaign funds, those surplus funds must be paid to the City of Edmonton at the time of filing the Disclosure Statement. All surplus funds will be held in an interest bearing account until one of the following events occurs, either:
- The candidate files Nomination papers for municipal office in the 2017 General Election; or
- The candidate does not file Nomination papers for municipal office in the 2017 General Election and directs the City to donate the money and interest to a registered charity (Section 248 of the Income Tax Act (Canada)
