Dispatcher Training
The dispatch training captain designs, develops and delivers courses and programs for new and experienced Emergency Response Communications Centre (ERCC) dispatchers.
New staff are trained on computer aided dispatch and related systems. All staff members receive training for emergency medical dispatcher re-certification and to upgrade skills as systems and protocols are revised.
All ERCC dispatchers must have a current emergency medical dispatcher certificate through the National Academies of Emergency Medical Dispatchers. Dispatchers must re-certify every two years and must complete 24 hours of continuing dispatch education to re-certify.
