As of October 2004, the Canada West Foundation had issued 32 reports in its Western Cities Project. The project promotes public awareness of the growing importance of cities to the economic, social and cultural lives of western Canadians by engaging citizens in the urban sustainability debate. The Western Cities Project consists of four initiatives:

• Urban Services and Environment
