Mandate
The primary legislated responsibility of the City of Edmonton Archives is to provide a planned program for the acquisition, preservation, and provision of access to records of permanent legal, administrative and historical value:
of the Corporation of City officials of City sponsored organizations and events
City of Edmonton archivists work actively with corporate records advisors and the Office of the City Clerk to ensure effective management of city records.
Private Record Donations
In addition to being the repository for the archives of the City, we are dedicated to building relationships within the community in order to acquire, preserve, and give access to private records of Edmonton individuals, organizations and businesses.
