Parks and Open Spaces
One of the most frequently mentioned topic areas is the continued availability of parks and open spaces. There is a strong sense of pride over Edmonton's beautiful and extensive park system and the vast amount of existing open spaces and Edmontonians want these maintained and expanded.
Parks and open spaces are highly valued contributions to a high quality of life in the City. This received a rating of 4.5/5 in the 2007 Visioning survey. The most frequently mentioned recreation and leisure activities are outdoor activities which take place in our parks and other green spaces. Walking takes top spot with over three-quarters of Edmontonians participating in this activity.
