Leisure adds to our self-esteem, fitness, and well-being.

Our quality parks and recreation services make Edmonton more livable and healthy.

You said maintaining our river valley and green spaces, our public recreation centres and swimming pools, our river valley walking and riding paths, our extensive trails, parks spaces and play grounds are all important to our continued sense of well-being.

You called upon the City to support world class events and destinations and said make our special places attractive and available.

You said:

• Our dog friendly parks and off leash areas are wonderful and they help connect people to each other.
• Our recreational facilities, clean and safe parks, bike paths, river valley trails and green spaces provide low cost opportunities to be physically active and healthy.
• That no cost school gym rentals to groups in communities would help us connect.
• More bike paths connecting to major centres and more public gardens, water fountains (both decorative and drinking) and more parks and walking trails in newer communities are needed.

Parks

You said Fort Edmonton Park, the Valley Zoo and the Muttart Conservatory are places where you like to spend your leisure time alone or with friends and family. Reduce fees for low income families and seniors you said so that all can enjoy them.

You championed the arts and learning programs.

Learning is important to you with many of you investing your leisure time taking courses and using our public library services.

You said the arts and our festivals bring people together and create community.
