Information Technology is responsible for the efficient operation of IT services and infrastructure; leading the corporation in the use of Information Technology as a strategic asset.

IT provides value to the corporation by enabling areas to provide service to citizens through the use of technology. The emerging needs of the corporation are addressed through IT planning and innovation.

Branch Services

Business and Information Solutions
Working in partnership with lines of business to solve problems, identify needs and assemble the operational plans to deliver solutions; ensures IT is aligned to meet the needs of the business.

Learn about Leveraging Technical Expertise Locally, an initiative to find new technologies and products from Edmonton's IT community. 

IT Strategy and Innovation
Effective positioning and efficient leveraging of the information technology asset through the introduction of new approaches allows departments to meet their business needs through technology.

Application Management Services
Management of over 100 applications, many critical to the provision of services to citizens; examples include Disabled Adult Transportation Services (DATS), Recreation Facility Booking Services, Emergency Response Dispatch (CAD).

Technology Management Services
Infrastructure management of core IT services including network access, email, collaboration, telephony, desktop, and back-end data services.

IT Service Management
Embedding continuous improvement as a practice, this core service monitors and reports on the performance of the Branch against industry-accepted standards and frameworks.
