The City of Edmonton’s Business Licence Bylaw outlines the following categories and regulations for businesses that are in the trades or are industrial operations:
Food Processing
This category is described as "processing food or beverages in preparation for human consumption, including catering services."
There are no special business licence regulations for this category, other than the need for a licence. Edmonton Fire Rescue is asked for a recommendation and Alberta Health Services is notified when an application is submitted for this category of business.
General Contractor
This category is described as "providing services with respect to the erection, alteration, cleaning, moving, repair or demolition of buildings or structures; excavation; landscaping; concrete preparation or delivery; electrical systems; drilling; heating or air conditioning systems; plumbing; paving; and road, sewer or other such construction."
There are no special business licence regulations for this category, other than the need for a licence.
General Industrial
This category is described as "processing of raw materials; manufacturing, assembly, cleaning, servicing, testing, repairing, storage, shipping or distribution of commercial or industrial materials, goods or equipment."
There are no special business licence regulations for this category, other than the need for a licence. Edmonton Fire Rescue is asked for a recommendation on applications for this category of business.
Vehicle Repair
This category is described as "the general maintenance or repair of motor vehicles or non-motorized recreational vehicles such as tent trailers, boats and other similar craft, including vehicle painting or body repair."
There are no special business licence regulations - other than the need for a licence - however there are special application requirements for this category. Edmonton Fire Rescue is asked for a recommendation on applications for this category of business.
