Hollick Kenyon

All lots in Hollick Kenyon's Modular Home Pilot Project have sold. Out of the 13 lots, 5 homes were built with panelized construction, 1 home showcased a modular home that was constructed in a controlled factory environment and 7 were constructed on-site.  The homes built on-site were the consumer's choice  because it was the most cost effective option at that time. The additional costs associated with transportation of the modular homes did not make that option as desirable. The cost of construction materials and labour also largely affect building costs. In the future, the City would like to continue providing multiple choices for customers, however, pricing needs to be more aligned between the different construction options in order for it to be cost effective for purchaser.
