Alberta's Industrial Heartland (AIHA), home to a globally recognized oil and petrochemical processing cluster, is guided by a non-profit association of municipalities dedicated toward sustainable eco-industrial development.
- Current member municipalities include City of Edmonton, City of Fort Saskatchewan, Lamont County, Strathcona County and Sturgeon County.
- AIHA promotes responsible development within the region – and ensures the region is ready for development in its infrastructure, services and land use zoning principles.
- AIHA recognizes that activities in the area can have a major impact on neighbouring communities and can affect their service delivery.
