Assessment Review Board
The Assessment Review Board is a quasi-judicial tribunal that hears all appeals (Complaints) relating to property assessments, business revitalization assessments and local improvement taxes in Edmonton. Its mission is to provide an impartial process for the adjudication of assessment disputes between the City of Edmonton and its assessed persons or taxpayers that yields fairness and equity in accordance with the Municipal Government Act.
Annual property assessment notices for 2012 were mailed on January 3, 2012.
If you disagree with the assessed value of your property, you can file a complaint with Edmonton's Assessment Review Board.
You can file your assessment complaint and submit supporting documents online at https://arb.edmonton.ca/. You'll need your tax roll number which can be found on your assessment notice.
Complaint filing fees have changed. Complete details are available online.
In response to recent provincial legislation, Edmonton's Assessment Review Board will refund assessment complaint fees when the board or (on appeal) the Court of Queen's Bench decides in favour of the complainant. The fee will also be refunded if a complaint is withdrawn because agreement was reached with an assessor to correct the matter under complaint.
2012 complaint deadline: March 12
Your complaint form and required fee must be received by:
- 4:30pm if you deliver it in person to the Assessment Review Board
- 11:59pm if you submit online
