Sustainability goes beyond “green”

For a sustainable community to be successful, we need to look at more than just being green. In addition to looking at what’s good for the planet, sustainability means also looking at what’s good for people and for the bottom line. Blatchford will meet all dimensions of sustainable development - social, environmental and economic.

Social sustainability includes health and well-being, livability and community spirit.

Environmental sustainability includes how we plan land use, energy, transportation, water, waste and urban ecology.

Economical sustainability is housing affordability, employment, economic vitality, infrastructure and revenues for the City.
