The key to Blatchford’s ability to change how we plan and build future communities is demonstrating that it is possible to achieve a balance between social, environmental and economic outcomes.

Blatchford’s economic sustainability will include designing the community for mixed-use, resulting in between 10,000 and 12,000 jobs being created on site.

The design balances costs and benefits, offering amenities that contribute to a high quality of life, but while ensuring that the cost of the homes is available for all and not just an exclusive few.

Greater economic sustainability will also be achieved through infrastructure design and leveraging existing infrastructure for new growth.

Blatchford will have a significant impact on increasing population density in the center of the city, and is part of the City’s overall proactive plan to manage Edmonton’s incredible growth.
