After the completion of the master planning process in 2013, a development plan was created to refine the high-level concept to include additional details.
Master Plan
The Blatchford master planning process started in 2010, when the City of Edmonton initiated an international competition to find a design team to create the master plan.
Out of 33 submissions, five were shortlisted to present more detailed proposals, which were reviewed by the public and Council. Perkins + Will was selected as the successful team in June 2011.
After more than 100 meetings with stakeholders and nine public workshops, the master plan was completed in early 2013.
