Public Skating
Free Public Skating
Free public skating is offered at City of Edmonton indoor arenas year-round. Staff and skate assists will be on site during all public skating times. Helmets are not required, however highly recommended. Equipment not permitted during public skating includes: strollers, sleds, hockey sticks, pucks, and balls.
There are three types of public skating programs available:
Public Skate
Bring the entire family to the arena for a fun time on the ice. Great way to spend some well deserved family time.Parents & Tots Skate (incl. “Sticks & Pucks”)
Parents can bring their tots (3-5 years old) to the arena to enjoy public skating. The arena will be divided by pylons into two sheets. One half sheet will be available for Parents & Tots skating while the other half of the arena will be used for “Sticks & Pucks”. “Sticks and Pucks” is a great way for families to practice shooting at the net. Helmets are strongly recommended.
Seniors Skate (65 years +)
If you are a senior (65 years +) who loves to skate or wants to try it out, this program is the perfect opportunity for you to skate and socialize.
