Indoor Play Space & Programs

Mill Woods kids programming

Millwoods Recreation Centre ... fun for kids of all ages.

New kids programming and drop-in activities in our new program rooms, along with the shallow entry wave pool and water slide, are the perfect way to spend fun time together.

Please note that child minding is offered at the following recreation centres:

Mill Woods Indoor Play Space

Ages: Up to 6 years-old

Located on the 3rd floor.

Explore a world of play with your preschooler. Enjoy our drop-in indoor play space where children can climb, slide, balance, and roll in a spacious room full of tyke-sized play equipment. Play in a house, drive one of the cars, pull a wagon or just run wild.

You must supervise your children while they are in the play space.

Admission

Regular children's admission applies. For child and family admission rates visit Admission & Memberships.

Admission to the Indoor Play Space is included with a child or family admission annual pass.

Upon receipt of payment, children will get a wrist band so they can also enjoy other applicable areas such as the pool.

New Preschool Room

Mill Woods Recreation Centre has a new dedicated space for preschool programs. Come check out our diverse range of activities to keep your preschooler on the go. Preschoolers and parents will enjoy painting, drawing, crafts, songs, movement and magic of meeting new friends.

Programs

Mumbo Jumbo (1-3 years)

Come and explore the fascinating world of toddler play! Each session incorporates both structured and unstructured activities including stories, songs and crafts. Parent/Guardians are required to attend this program.

Alphabet Soup (3.5-5 years)

From acrobats to zebras, every class provides a new adventure filled with songs, stories, games and art activities. This class is a fun way to help your child prepare for school.

Kids in the Kitchen (3.5-5 years)

Learn about kitchen safety and use different utensils to make mouth-watering masterpieces. After we eat our secret creations we will have time to sing songs, read stories, play a few games and make an exciting craft that fits our theme of the day.

Skip, Sing and Strings (3.5-5 years)

Little ones will skip and dance as they move to the music around them! This program will include learning through dance movements and activities, getting a chance to play different musical instruments, sharing songs, and even crafting a take home instrument!

Active Tots (1-3 years)

In this exciting new program, toddlers will have a chance to explore their environment through active play and parents will learn how to be active role models for their children. Parent/Guardians are required to attend and participate in this program.

Active Start (3.5-5 years)

On your mark...get set...go! In this fun-filled, fast-paced class, there is no time for a nap, but your little one might need one after we're done! We'll have a ball playing a variety of sports and developing proper movement skills such as running, jumping, twisting, kicking, throwing and catching. Please provide a small nut-free snack and beverage each day for your child. Please note that all participants are required to be toilet trained. Parents/Guardians are not required to stay.

Children and Youth Programs

Red Cross Babysitting (11-16 years)

Are you looking to learn valuable skills and make some extra money? This program covers taking care of infants, accident prevention and the rights and responsibilities of the babysitter. Course fee includes babysitting manual and first aid kit.

Youth in Action

This class is designed to introduce youth to the basics of fitness and weight training. Following this orientation, 12-15 year olds are able to use the fitness centre.

Teen Spin & Core

Improve your cardiovascular fitness, strengthen your abdominal muscles and decrease your waist size all at the same time with this high-energy spin class designed for teens ages 13-17.
